About us

GVSA exists to build and develop effective relationships within the school community. We run activities and provide facilities and equipment to support the school and advance the education of its pupils.

Every parent and carer at Golden Valley is automatically part of the association. Our committee is made up of volunteers who plan events, look after the money, and decide with the school how funds are spent.

GVSA is run entirely by volunteers: parents, carers and staff who give their time to organise events and make sure the money raised is spent well.

The officers are elected at our annual general meeting. Everyone else helps out as much or as little as they can.

How GVSA is run

GVSA is a registered charity. Its officers, usually the chair, treasurer and secretary, act as the charity's trustees and are responsible for making sure funds are raised, recorded and spent properly.

Every parent and carer at Golden Valley is a member of the association and is welcome at the annual general meeting, where officers are elected and the year's accounts are presented. Decisions on how money is spent are made with the school, so funds go where they'll make the most difference to pupils.
